The IEEE Photonics Society, in partnership with the IEEE Foundation, proudly established the IEEE Photonics Society Fund. As the philanthropic arm of IEEE, the IEEE Foundation inspires the generosity of donors so it may enable programs that enhance tech access, literacy and education, as well as support the IEEE professional community. With donor support, the IEEE Foundation strives to be a leader in transforming lives through the power of technology and education.

The IEEE Photonics Fund also directly supports: the Society's International Day of Light activities; IEEE Humanitarian Activities and IEEE SIGHT funding calls for chapter & community participation; proposals in support of marginalized members and underserved communities; and public imperative initiatives. The Fund facilitates over 150 annual travel grants, scholarships, educational seed funding proposals a year to enhance the participation of young professionals and emerging thought leaders in the field.
